Check out the "small works" file for some special gift possibilities. Since I not longer take small works like these to galleries or shows.....you can get a great buy. Available with or without frames. Only available directly from my studio....or online.
Small works can be great gifts.....display them on a small table top easel or perhaps lean them against the books on your bookshelf.

Although most professional artists would prefer that we could "roll back the calendars" to the days when a real-life bricks and mortar gallery could handle all of their work.....and need I say it..... the bookkeeping, display, public press releases, publicity, shows and shop talk, hanging, and even just turning on the lightbulbs. Unfortunately, it seems that the information age has caused a huge shift in our way of doing business.
It appears that ONLINE Galleries are here to stay. They will be be used by many artists as mere "portfolios" of their works. Others will decide to publish their prices online for some works, and keep other works for the rotations into galleries. This business of whether to publish prices has been perhaps the most confusing of all elements to everyone. Ultimately, some bricks and mortar galleries may shy away from handling your work, while others will laud your "transparency". One thing to remember, my smaller works 8" x 10" and under, rarely go to a gallery these days.....so they are well priced. CHECK OUT THE SMALL WORKS FILE.....they are priced especially for online and studio sales. Most of us walk into a shop and hope to see prices posted. It gives you an uncomfortable feeling when you must "ask" for the price. You wonder if there is a different price for different people, etc. So taking a page out of our traditional shopping habits.......I have decided to go back to my original concept of publishing a number of prices online. Consider that similarly sized pieces are probably not too far off from those that have prices published. In addition, I am happy to provide a price list for various sizes, just ask. Artists today work doubly hard since they are not only artists, but must do all of the things that the traditional galleries always did. Many of us have our own galleries in our studios where customers will make appointments for viewing works. We photograph our own works, we frame it, we do all the online promotions, follow the market, evaluate all the various aspects of running a business.....in addition to the art production itself. We hang the art, rotate the works, have open studio events.....the list is endless. I personally, have never worked harder in my previous career life. Since I am both running a gallery and painting, the prices will be the same......whether online or in a bricks and mortar gallery. If you buy a piece online, there will be shipping and handling added after the shipping location is determined. Many people are hesitant to buy without first seeing the artist's works in person. To that end, I will continue to put works in local or even not-so-local galleries and shows. After you see the quality of the works, you will be more comfortable with the idea of online purchasing of that artist's work. Or better yet "try-out" online purchasing using paypal. I need not tell you about framed vs. unframed. But perhaps you are unaware that the quality of a frame can be anything from a craft store item to the best that money can buy. If you would like to purchase a piece online, a frame can easily be removed before shipping or delivery. That way you can frame it as you prefer. (perhaps save a bit on the shipping too). So if a work is marked "framed" inquire about the details. Ask questions if you are unsure about other details. I look forward to helping you with your acquisition If you are returning customer, please let me know. In that way I can keep you up-to-date on special events.
