Biography
I am a contemporary painter. Having trained as both an artist and a designer, my works included LANDSCAPES of both realistic and abstracted nature; ABSTRACTS moving into experimental directions of pattern, texture and color; And ANIMALS from the traditional and sporting art traditions.
Overall, my work is inspired by a love of open space and country life.
A native of Iowa, I have a BA from the University of Iowa. While living in New York City and working as a design editor for 10 years, I continued my studies at the Arts Students League and Parsons the New School of Design. After moving to Pennsylvania, I have largely devoted myself to painting and periodic consultations in design endeavors. I have studied with several artists from the Brandywine Valley tradition and artists from the PAFA.
I currently reside in beautiful Chester County Pennsylvania in the famed Cheshire Fox Hunting Country. I am an active member of a local foot pack, The Skycastle French Hounds.
